Wow, I am really neglecting this whole blog thing! But as many of you know(according to Taylor) I have MOM of the YEAR wrapped up-don't even bother sending in your applications cuz i have it! So Here are the highlights(just since september) that give me the above award:
1. Took family to airshow(so so awesome) and then stood in the cold with freezing children with NO jackets   for 2 HOURS waiting to get back to the car.
2. Had a Fun Fun Halloween, with the cutest princess and Hannah Montana in Vegas, and you guessed it-NO PICTURES-at all.
3. Sent Taylor on scout backpacking trip (our troop is made up of leaders and scouts from 3 wards). Dropped him off at 6 am for a 2 mille backpacking/camping trip with people we DON"T know, going to a mountain we THINK is still in Nevada, and coming home the next day(we assume). That's right, DIDN'T know when he was returning, so he backpacked home from the church!
4. Had a Fantastic Thanksgiving with the family, including hiking at red rock, seeing the fountains at Bellagio, sitting in DAM traffic going to Hoover Dam(which was okay because it gave Jeremy ample time to try and throw as many peanut M&M's in the sunroof in Jackie's car). We finished by taking the kids to see Santa at Bass pro shop(we go all out) so Paige could be sufficiently SCARED to DEATH of Santa. Did take pictures, but when I tried to download said pictures, the computer became ill with some kind of virus( I think it has H1N1).
5 Sent Brooklyn to school with STREP THROAT-of course to infect all, as only a good mom would do!

6. Tried to go to parent teacher conferences-on the WRONG day(so completely missed them)

7. Bought stuff for gingerbread houses for Brooklyn to make at school, AFTER she already did it.
8. Tried to post pictures of happy events-LOST the CAMERA!
9. Did NOT get pictures and/or Christmas cards sent out.
10. Did I mention LOST the CAMERA!
11. And last but not least, only a TRUE mother of the year could threaten her children with her cooking.  Yes, its true rather than having to EAT my cooking, Taylor, Brooklyn, and Paige cleaned the house until it SPARKLED!

MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR

This summer has been realitively uneventful. So since I don't have any pictures of a fancy new house, or exciting vacation, I thought I would post pictures Cute Girls!! Since I have been staying home, I have become quite domestic. I canned for the first time last week, and then went to a cooking class on how to use oats in everyday cooking(more than oatmeal in the morning). I have been experimenting with some recipes, and while Todd will eat them, sometimes he not so excited about it. Lastly I have been working on hairdos for my girls. Thanx to some great step by step hairdo blogs, and patient girls, we are getting better. Paige Loves to show her Primary teacher her hair every week-that's right I got some mad hairdo skills(hahaha)!!! Next week the kids go back to school and the craziness begins again!!!!

This weekend we took the kids to a state park called "Valley of Fire"-correctly named. Apparently the middle of July is not the best time to visit the park. We went anyway-it was only 110 degrees-cool really(if you stay in the car) We got out a couple times and let the kids climb in the rocks, and THEN we decided to go on a "little hike" less than 1/2 a mile round trip. Apparently, your kids can get heat stroke/exhaustion if you take them on said hike in 110 degree heat through red hot sand, next to blistering red hot rocks, and very little shade(and mom was in flip flops), in order to see a rock!! We totally get parents of the year! After cooling the children down, we did get to see some cool stuff, and then we drove to Lake Mead for a swim. Again, not to refreshing when the air is 110 and the water is warm, but the Kids LOVED the water!! Good Family times!

As most of you may or may not know I had surgery a couple of weeks ago-but all is well and I am slowly rebuilding my blood supply-apparently you need it! We had so much fun on vacation. We celebrated Aiden's birthday(not on the actual day), Brooklyn's birthday(not in the actual month), and fun day swimming at Downata! It was the only Pool warm enough for the Las Vegans(yes we froze for the first few days) We hurried home so We could go to the 51's baseball game, and 110 degree heat.(Las Vegas' AAA minor league team) They announced Taylor's name along with the Short Stop. He then got to go on the field for a little "dressing" contest, unfortunately he lost! So so much fun! It was so great to see everybody!

I can't believe the kids have finished(and survived) their first year of school in Vegas! Brooklyn was a cute little sheep in her class play-so cute! Papa then made an quick trip to vegas so we went to Hoover Dam and checked out the progress on the bridge they are building over the canyon-it is truely AMAZING! Brooklyn was given a "superhero" award. They rolled out the red carpet and she got the award and a picture with the Principal in a tux! Now the kids are finished with school, baseball, swimming, and dance, and the temperatures rising-I guess we'll have to visit Idaho!!

We finally have grass!!! It was quite the project. Since our fence is a brick wall with only one little gate to go through, everything had be hauled in and out one wheelbarrow full at a time! First we had to haul out the rock that completely filled the backyard, then Todd dug the trenches for the sprinkler system by hand with a pik-he bent it cuz the ground is so so hard! Putting in the system took, uh-30 minutes! Then we hauled topsoil from the truck to the backyard(I think they got it straight from the cow!)The neighbors were LOVING us when we started this phase. Finally we were able to put the sod down. The kids were so excited-it was as if they had never seen grass before! Now hopefully we can keep it growing in the desert!

Cute Easter Day
Posted by Picasa

April 2009

We had so much fun this past month! We started the month with vacation(pictures still lost in the broken camera), and then Easter with Grandma and Grandpa C. Then the Utah Romriell's came for a quick visit. We had so much fun, we went to a park and climbed to the top of the "mountain" , and had a great view of the valley! Then we went to Pole Position to ride go carts, and then off to Taylor's baseball game-where he pitched a great couple of innings! Sunday we took a drive to the Temple through a shady part of Vegas-good times!!! Now that things have settled down we are working on our backyard, which was rock and cement. Todd is now trying to intstall a sprinkler system-6 sprinkler heads shoud cover it! Quite different from our last system!
