As you may have heard, Winter has come to the Desert. Complete with a snow day for the kids. We had a little tasteof snow on Monday and then Wednesday it snowed all day. Some areas got
8 inches of snow. Unfortunately it started raining before
the kids could play in all the snow but there was a little
left at the park. This is the first snow day in 30
years in Vegas. Apparently the county only has
4 snow plows(for the mountains). It was quite the event!!!

It's beginning to look a lot like........Vegas?? Yes we had snow today- CRAZY!!!! apparently it is the first time in 2 years that it has snowed. No snow day for the kids though. The Kids Loved it anyway!! PS ignore the commentary on the video(I was talking on the phone and filming Brooklyn) I am such a multitasker!!

We went to Red Rock Canyon(not Casino) to try and get some festive holiday pictures. Ha HA Ha. It was Dec 6th at 4:oo pm and we were in t-shirts- Crazy!!!! Todd and Taylor climbed to the top of the mountain, when Paige saw them she freaked- " GET DOWN RIGHT NOW" My little Paige is VERY afraid of heights. The kids had a good time climbing all over the rocks and being outside!

So it was our first holiday in Las Vegas, and true to Romriell tradition we were running late-(grandma and grandpa were coming) All Romriells were scurrying about trying to cook dinner, clean the house and chase the children. In the spirit of multi-tasking Paige was placed in the tub to wash one layer of dirt off, Taylor was playing Playstation, Brooklyn and Jill went to Wal-mart for soap and other forgotten Items. About halfway down the soap isle I got a frantic call to come home"RIGHT NOW" it seems that as Todd was cleaning it started raining in the kitchen through the lights (yes those lights in the picture)-, not from the clouds but from Paiges "swimming pool" After mopping up about 2 inches of water we enjoyed a lovely thanksgiving feast to the sound of drip drip drip on the tile in the kitchen-yes the "rain" continued for a while!!!! We did have a good time with grandma and papa, and drug them all over Las Vegas!!! However typical Jill forgot the camera-all well!!!

Taylor was given a "superhero" award at his school!! This award is given to students who exhibit "heroic" qualities, and they are nominated by fellow students and teachers. It was quite the ceremony the principal was in a tux and they had the "Scintas" come and perform. They have a show on the strip(that is who Taylor is standing next to) He has adjusted well to his new school!!!!

We have had a CRAZY Halloween week here in the "valley". It started last Saturday when Todd's company had a party at Springs Preserve. It is kind of a nature area, and they made all kinds of scarecrows out of all kinds of things-that's one of the scarecrows that Brooklyn is posing with. Sunday Todd and I had to talk in church-the church wasn't even struck by lightning!!! Wednesday the kids dressed up again for the ward party, Thursday they again wore costumes for school parties. Friday was a day off of school for "Nevada Day" and then that night we went Trick-or-Treating (in shorts and flip- flops). As you can see our kids will be on sugar high for quite some time!!!

We took the kid's to Town Center, which is a mall off the strip, and found this cute little park in the middle of it. The mall itself is just kind of fun to walk around-it is all outside, and it has a great movie theater. Taylor is standing in a little maze-and yes all of that is real grass!!! The Girls found little houses to play in with slides and pretend food. They had a great time. I had to throw in a picture of Brooklyn doing the splits-she is VERY flexible

The Romriell's have been trying to stay busy this month. We kind of got a late start, so it was hard to sign the kids up for activities, but we found a dance class for Brooklyn, (Paige thinks she is enrolled as well). They LOVE it. It is once a week for an hour. Todd took the carpet and linoleum out of the downstairs right away. So yet again we are living without flooring.(sound familiar). He is laying tile on his days off and after work.(so not a lot of time to do it). Taylor is busy with school, he has at least an hour of homework every night. We hope to get him back in baseball this winter!!!

Since it is still summer here in the desert, the kids have turned the hot tub into our pool!!!

Hoover Dam

After a hectic week at school and work, we took a little trip to hoover dam. We left after Todd got off work on Saturday. It had cooled off to about 90-95 degrees at 6:00 at night. So it was perfect for a little walk. Unfortunately, everything was closed, but the kids thought it was pretty cool.

This last weekend, labor day, we went to Idaho to retrieve the rest of our belongings.(including jenna). We were ready to get back to Las Vegas when it snowed-in the mountains and was cold. (we didn't pack any warm clothes). But we made it back with all family members, which was quite an accomplishment!!!!
